Artist Statement

I have held a long time interest in the entwined histories of art and photography.

A sense of excitement and wonder spread throughout Europe and then America with the appearance of the first known photograph in 1829. I have drawn on the work of those early photographers to sharpen my own eyes and give depth to my own photographic expression.
